SECURITY COUNCIL

Picture
Argiro Ioannidou – President

Salut! My name is Argiro Ioannidou and I live in the beautiful city of Thessaloniki. I am currently studying Law in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki as an undergraduate student, since September 2016. I am definitely a MUN “addict” and very interested in International Relations and Economics. I have been participating as a delegate, but also as a chair, in MUNs for a lot of years and I intend to take part in many more. MUNs are definitely an experience worth remembering. Not only do you have the opportunity to discuss, debate and exercise your diplomatic skills, but you can also learn how to communicate and socialize with new people. Regarding my other interests, I love travelling, reading books (my favourite subject is philosophy) and listening to all kinds of music. I am in love with France and I hope that one day I will manage to live permanently in Paris. For the time being, we are all looking forward to ARCMMUN 2018. This years’ Security Council will be full of suspense! Let the games begin!

John Bamnios - Vice President

My name is John Bamnios and I was born and raised in Thessaloniki. Well, my official name is Ioannis but I prefer being called John. I currently study Law in Democritus University of Thrace. I am very interested in Politics, International Affairs and World’s History. Up to now, I have participated in several MUN conferences, including Harvard’s MUN in Boston. MUNs not only help one understand some of the most difficult problems in the supranational community, but also offer a great chance to meet new people with the same interests. As far as my hobbies are concerned, I love basketball, football as well as reading books and travelling. To conclude, this year's Security Council is going to be a unique and memorable experience for all the delegates, since our wonderful President, Argiro, and myself, we will do our best!

Christina Liamou - Junior Chair:

Hello everyone! My name is Christina Liamou and I am living in the enchanting city of Thessaloniki. I have been involved in the ArcMUN since I was 14 years old and I have also participated in the EagleMUN in Boston, USA. I love travelling and working with people from different cultural backgrounds, because I believe that this cultural fusion absolves our bias. I am interested in World History and I like to keep up with the daily news. My expectations for the ArcMUN 2018 are high as we are going to discuss about a plethora of ambiguous issues that seem to be insuperable. But nothing is inexorable and it is our responsibility to be released from intransigence and cooperate in order to tackle those issues. This year, I look forward to admire your desire to buttress the views of your countries and even be apologists for them. My advice for you delegates: be ready for revelations!
